A smart and very well made antique mahogany leather top bonheur du jour writing desk. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1930’s.

It is of superb quality and is beautifully constructed from mahogany with fine inlays of satin wood. It has a lovely serpentine shape to the front, there is an inset leather writing surface with nicely tooled edges. There is ample work space and plenty of storage space with two generous drawers under the writing surface, with a further six drawers and two cabinets in the back gallery. The back gallery has a raised pie crust edge, this stands on finely tapered and grooved legs terminating in spade feet. The back is also nicely finished, so can be used as a free standing item.

We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age.
